    Why  AMERICAN CHINCHILLA  Rabbits?  

    Of all the breeds of rabbits in the world, we chose American Chinchillas
    for our farm.  A number of characteristics influenced our decision:

    - -   excellent meat quality (see SLOW FOOD'S Ark of Taste)  

    - -   grow quickly to butcher size

    - -   are large rabbits, adults weighing 9-12 pounds

    - -   most does are excellent mothers (and like most rabbits, are prolific!)

    - -   beautiful, chinchilla-soft pelts

    - -   very gentle and docile

    - -   critically endangered
