GETTING THE RED WATTLE Hogs FROM US TO YOU -- OPTIONS:

    1.  You or a transporter pick them up at our farm(s).

    2.  We deliver them to you:
If we receive enough requests for hogs in a given part of the country,
we may plan a delivery trip for Summer or Fall, 2008.  We may also be
transporting hogs to The Red Wattle Hog Association meeting held during the
National Small Farm Trade Show & Conference in Columbia, Missouri in
    November.

    3.  Meat hogs may be delivered to your choice of butchers near us
for a small fee.  We may also be able to ship meat to you.

Sorry, at this time transport via airlines is prohibitively time-consuming,
    and not feasible for us.

FIVE PONDS FARM   RED WATTLE PIGLET  PURCHASING POLICIES

We aim for farrowing our sows in September and March, which means
the piglets are normally available for purchase in November and May.
We keep a Waiting List of the names of those who have contacted us
and expressed a serious interest in purchasing pigs.

When piglets are born we contact those highest on the Waiting List.  To
reserve the piglets we must receive down payment of 50% of the total
estimated cost within 14 days of the date of notification.  This down
payment is non-refundable (unless through an act of God the piglet is
no longer available, in which case we promptly refund the fee or apply it,
if owner so requests, to another piglet).  The balance of the fees are paid
when the piglets are picked up.

To inquire about purchasing pigs or to be included on our RED WATTLE
Waiting List please CLICK HERE.  (There is no fee to place your name on
    our waiting list).

Costs involved in  RED WATTLE PIGLET purchases:

    1. Cost of animal (please click here for pricing).

    2.  Vet certificate:  A veterinary examination and health certificate is
needed for any piglet with a final destination outside the state of Missouri.
Each state has its own requirements, but most mandate only a simple
health check and identification tag, and the cost is minimal (usually under
$20 per piglet).  Please check with your local veterinarian as to the
    particulars for your state.

We obtain the vet certificates but must have the down payment
beforehand.   Vet certificates for overland travel are valid for 30 days.

    3.  Boarding fees:  The piglets are weaned at 8 weeks of age and should
be picked up as close to that date as possible.  Until the piglets are 9
weeks old their upkeep is included in the price of the piglets.  If the
customer has us keep their piglets beyond the 9 weeks, we charge a
boarding fee of $1.50 per day per hog.

    4.  Extra feed:  When piglets leave our farm we supply food sufficient
for 2 days if they are going to be traveling for that duration.  Purchase of
additional feed from us (priced at our cost) is an option.

    5. Other charges:  Special carriers, air travel, or other needs are at the
    new owner's expense.
